CLIFS conducts up to 30 vision screenings a year in five (5) Southern California Districts. Recently, at Ken Nakaoka Community Center, Gardena, there were 172 patients seen. During these screenings, our licensed doctors provided an eye health assessment and if necessary, free recycled eyeglasses.
This vision screening, although, does not replace the comprehensive eye examination that is obtained through the participant’s doctor’s office, it does assess eye health concerns and provides a usable pair of recycled eyeglasses until professional services can be obtained. So, as we conduct another Free Vision Screening, we are in need of people who can share a portion of their time to make this activity a success.
When you volunteer at a California Lions Friends in Sight vision screening it is much more than just giving out recycled eyeglasses. You are a part of a team of dedicated volunteers who work on any given Saturday to restore vision and prevent blindness for hundreds of people who need your help. Join the Lions fight against preventable blindness and together we'll deliver a brighter tomorrow!
